A new study says, Earth's oceans gets more acidic faster than previously thought, unbalancing ecosystems in the process, increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. As the ocean absorbs excess carbon dioxide from fossil fuel burning, it spurs chemical reactions that lower the pH of seawater, a process known as ocean acidification. Last August 15,2015 the ICC Philippines Marketing Coordinator Mr.Zed Avecilla and Project Coordinator Ms.Jozen Curva met with Mr. Andrew Stanley Jackson, an inventor from Pampanga, who created structurally complex artificial reefs which would not only house biologically diverse fish communities but also help in maintaining the ph of the ocean/seas. He said that these artificial reefs could be done feasibly without extraneous added costs and work by adding rubble to simple artificial reef structures.
