Kiko Rustia is known for hosting “Born to Be Wild” with Dr. Ferds Recio. He has currently ventured into producing and hosting his own show titled “Dis Is Pinas”, which airs weekly on GMA News TV. This program showcases nature and heritage sites by engaging with the local residents.
In this shoot last June 7, he takes Flying 15 sailing lessons from Marcus Avecilla, Operations Manager of the Saturday Afternoon Gentlemen Sailing (SAGS) and a trimmer for the The Lighthouse Marina Resort Selma Star yacht racing team. One of the notable advocacies of SAGS aside from organizing and helping in the staging of the two major sailing events in Subic is the promotion of sailing through proper education and sail training through its outreach IYFR-SAGS School. Being an advocate for the environment, Kiko stresses the importance of protecting the waters of Subic Bay and even attended the SAGS “Subic Sailing” Documentary that premiered in the Ayala Harbor Point Cinema during Independence Day, last June 12, 2014. He also pledged his support for the the largest volunteer effort in preserving our ocean: The International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) on September 20, 2014. By joining this event, volunteers will be supporting the work of Ocean Conservancy.org to use the best in science-based solutions to tackle challenges like ocean trash. The ICC is celebrated every 3rd Saturday of September and joined by 650,000 people across the globe. In fact, the Philippines is the second largest participating country in the world with 182, 408 volunteers in 2013. You may view full album here.
