The Lighthouse Marina Resort Foundation together with International Coastal Cleanup Philippines in collaboration with SBMA Ecology planted approximately 175 mangrove seedlings led by the 12 members of the Service Quality Improvement Team (SQIT) of the Lighthouse Marina Resort last December 3, 2015.
The team wants to bring more attention with this issue since mangrove forests in this protected area are increasingly at risk due to human exploitation. As a coastal environment, mangrove forests are vital breeding grounds for marine life, nesting sites for birds and habitats for insects. Mangroves also afford protection for coral and prevent coastal erosion. “A sustainable world means working together to create prosperity for all.” - Jacqueline Novogratz #iccph #icczambales
